The two most common questions we get are “what is a PTO?” and “what does the PTO do?”.
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. We are composed entirely of parent volunteers and teachers working together to build the kind of community where students and staff can do their best work.
We sponsor and run family events like the Costume Contest and Auction & Arts Night. We support teachers and staff through monetary grants, Teacher Appreciation Week meals, and classroom volunteers and chaperones. We encourage and celebrate student achievements by organizing the 8th Grade Party and providing treats at the Honor Roll Assemblies. All these great things are sponsored through the fundraising that the PTO does throughout the year.
Unlike some other school PTAs/PTOs we never require our members to pay dues. In fact, every teacher and parent/guardian at Disco is automatically a member! Isn’t that great?
